Team Facilitation
amsterdam
My workshops focus on personal leadership, collaboration, and change. I usually conduct workshops with one or more partners; we have spent (and spend) a long time optimizing the content and processes of our workshops.
Our clients include teams in the corporate sector, culture or education, and (entrepreneurial) families.
Over the past few years, I have worked with teams from major banks, startups, law firms, students, and entrepreneurial families. The key themes include:
Management and leadership: Guiding teams of 20-80 FTEs effectively by providing clear instructions, giving feedback, using effective communication tools, conducting performance reviews, and handling conflicts.
Dialogue sessions (in cases of cultural change) with corporate teams, families, and students.
Defining mission, vision, and goals: Using a proven methodology, we work on answering key questions: Where are we now as a team? Where do we want to go? How do we want to interact with each other? This process helps establish a clear vision, mission, and team objectives.
Cases team facilitation
Team workshops at a small law firm in Amsterdam:
The goal of the workshop was to develop annual plan, at the same time delegating more responsibility to employees, and work on innovation.
Team weekend(s) with entrepreneurial family (3rd generation of an FMCC):
Participants in the workshop came from London, Canada, and Kenya and decided to have their annual meeting in Amsterdam. The objective of the team session was to strengthen team cohesion and develop a shared mission and team goals as the third generation of a family business.
Dialogue session:
The focus was on creating a cultural shift that was highly necessary—we decided not to take a top-down approach, which prevents the acceptance by group members, but by allowing the group members to develop new values collectively. Challenges included a historically negative culture with cases of both physical and mental misconduct, an "us vs. them" mentality, and low engagement with society.
METHODOLOGY – Team Facilitation
Robert obtained his Basic Teaching Qualification (BDB) in Amsterdam in 2020 and became a certified MfN mediator in Amsterdam in 2018. Additionally, completed the coach/practitioner training at the Alba Academy.
Beyond Robert’s role as an MfN mediator, he is also a group dynamics facilitator (certified by Zenergy, Mougins, France, in 2015). Key principles in this approach include:
Collective intelligence – fostering openness to the wisdom of the group.
Experiential learning – learning through action and experience.
Whole Person perspective – integrating intellectual, physical, and emotional wisdom.
With our guidance, corporate teams, groups, or families make collective decisions, work towards team goals, and strengthen their bonds. As facilitators, we enhance mutual understanding and help the group achieve its objectives.
Key Ingredients of the Sessions:
Thoughts: Exploring old and new values. We establish behavioral agreements that shape a culture the team can rely on for years, connecting individual values to those of the group.
Words: Uncovering meaningful words or stories that define the founder, group, or family.
Experiences: During creative sessions, teams may use symbols, drawings, or artworks to bring their shared values to life—either reinforcing existing ones or defining them for the first time.
